Getting Pretty Muddy For A Great Cause!
A Rainy Day Full Of Smiles
Despite the rain and grey skies, spirits were high as our team took on a Race For Life: Pretty Muddy 5K Event this Saturday 7th June! It was a fantastic day filled with fun, laughter and lots (and lots!) of mud! The event was in support of Cancer Research, a wonderful cause that we are proud to have been part of.
Smashing Our Fundraising Target
We are incredibly proud to share that together; we raised an amazing £2,385 for Cancer Research! Every step we took and every muddy obstacle we tackled helped to contribute to this brilliant total, which will go towards life-changing research and support for those affected by Cancer.
Team Effort All The Way
Our team for the event was made up of 14 staff members, 4 of our amazing supported individuals and plenty of supporters cheering us on from the sidelines. Everyone threw themselves into the challenge, facing everything the muddy course could throw a us with enthusiasm and determination. For many of us, the highlight of the day was the giant slide at the end of the course – sending us speeding straight into a pit of cold, wet mud! There was plenty of laughter and slippery moments along the way, but that only made the experience more memorable.
Pride and Achievement For All
We are beyond proud of the supported individuals who took part in the event. They put their all into each step and each obstacle, proving yet again how determined, capable and spirited they are. A sense of achievement and pride filled the air once event was over.
Building Stronger Bonds
As important as raising money is, events like the Race For Life Pretty Muddy mean so much more. They bring us together as a team in a completely different way. We encouraged each other over climbing frames, cheered each other on through tunnels and laughed together as we got covered in mud. Taking on a challenge reminded us how strong we are when we work together – not just in our jobs, but outside of work too. It was a brilliant way to build team spirit, whilst raising money for such a great cause.
Looking Ahead
We all had such a fun time, even in the rain, that we are already talking about taking part in the event again next year and we hope to make it an annual event going forwards. It would be great to see our Pretty Muddy Cedar Team grow, whether it’s for fun in the mud, or the opportunity to help make a difference.
